How To Apply for a Passport in Kenya Online
The process of applying for a passport in Kenya has been made easy and can be completed in a few steps. You can easily complete the application online.
Below is a step-by-step guide on how to apply for a Kenyan Passport online
- Create an eCitizen Account
To start the application process for a passport in Kenya, you need to create an account on eCitizen. Visit ecitizen.go.ke and click on Register. Select the Account Type and fill in the required details. You will receive an email with a validation link. Click on the link to validate your account.
- Log in to your eCitizen Account
Log in to eCitizen using your email address and the set password. Once you log in, you will be redirected to a dashboard where you can access various government services.
- Select Department of Immigration Services
On the dashboard, select “Department of Immigration Services”. Choose “Passports” and select “Get Service Now” Select your desired Passport Type and click “Apply Now”
- Complete the Application Form
Fill in the application form with your personal information including; Full Name, Date of Birth, Gender, and Identification Number.
Ensure you fill in all the required information accurately.
- Upload Required Documents
You need to scan and upload the required documents including; the original birth certificate, Identification Card (for applicants over 18 years old), and Copies of Parent’s Identification Card.
- Make Payment
You will be redirected to make a payment for the passport application. To complete the payment, you can use M-pesa, debit, or credit card. Simply follow the instructions to complete the transaction.
- Book an Appointment for Biometrics
Once you’ve made the payment, you will be required to book an appointment for biometrics collection. You can choose a suitable date and time for this appointment.
You will receive an SMS Notification once your passport is available for collection. Visit the same Immigration office you went for biometrics to collect your passport.
